Визначено специфіку автотранспортного виробничого процесу та особливості формування та використання запасів в автомобільному транспорті, їхній вплив на організацію обліку. Одержала подальший розвиток методика обліку запасів умовах дії податкового законодавства. Запропоновано основні напрямки удосконалення обліку запасів з використанням міжнародних стандартів обліку.
