| Abstract: | Trends in the architecture and features of television receivers for digital broadcasting (terrestrial, satellite, cable TV) are highlighted. Special emphasis is placed on those where free software is used, in particular operating system Linux. Embedded Linux system can be called leading in the segment of small-sized media devices, including digital TV receivers. The application of Linux allows extending the functionality of the devices, giving them the features of playback of multimedia content and work with Internet services. At the same time the advantages of free and open code are taken. |
