smart city
In Europe, the concept of a smart city has attracted the attention of politicians and has been adopted by many cities. In addition, the development of the concept is facilitated by the European Union. European cities using the "smart city" approach focus mainly on improving their economic and environmental performance, while only partially, if at all, addressing their social sustainability issues. The qualification work explored and identified the contribution that a "smart city" approach can make to the management of urban areas for social sustainability. In particular, the main emphasis was on the role of local state administrations in this regard, as they are the initiators of the Smart City initiatives. Compared the Smart City strategy of three European cities (Bologna, Montpellier and Ghent)
