Résumé:	Recently, the issue of the legality of software in the domestic schools has sharply risen. One of the ways out in this situation is the use of free software distributed under the GNU GPL license and similar to it. To reveal the possibilities of using the Linux operating system in school when studying computer science and to prove that this OS is a full-fledged alternative to Windows.
