Аналіз факторів впливу на якість професійної діяльності викладачів ТНТУ ім. І. Пулюя

Abstract

Вагомий вплив на показники якості професійної діяльності викладачів вищих навчальних закладів має педагогічна майстерність – комплекс властивостей особистості, який забезпечує високий рівень самоорганізації професійної і педагогічної діяльності. Представлено результати анонімного опитуванння студентів ТНТУ ім. І. Пулюя з метою оцінювання педагогічної майстерності викладачів. Педагогічну майстерність оцінено за чотирма блоками характеристик. Окреслено необхідність підвищення якості професійної діяльності викладачів та обгрунтовано значення цього процесу для якості вищої освіти.

Pedagogical skills which are a set of personality traits providing a high level of self-organization of professional and educational activities significantly impact the quality indicators of teaching staff professional activities. The results of an anonymous survey of the Ternopil Ivan Pul’uj National Technical University (TNTU) students aimed at assessing the pedagogical skills of the teaching staff are presented in the article. The four blocks of characteristics have been taken into account while evaluating the pedagogical skills. The need in improving the quality of academic staff professional activities has been outlined and the importance of this process for the higher education quality assurance has been grounded. The analysis of historical and educational sources testifies that special attention is paid to the quality assessment of the teachers’ professional and pedagogical activities. The scientific works devoted to the improvement of the situation in this area are analyzed. The aim of the article is to analyze the factors influencing the quality of the teachers’ professional activities in terms of the direct participants of the educational process (students of the university) and to present the author’s own opinion towards the criteria for indicators assessing the internal university quality control systems of professional activities. The survey has been carried out by using the anonymous questionnaire for TNTU students comprising all the courses and faculties. As a result of the research 7002 individual questionnaires and 112032 personal data have been analyzed. As the result of the research the following regularities have been identified: a) teachers with a little experience of pedagogical activity (from one to five years) have obtained higher valuations than senior and more experienced teachers; b) the questions concerning the use of innovative teaching methods, ability to make students be interested in the subject, individual attention to each student have got the lowest level of assessment among the others in the questionnaire; c) the students’ truthfulness in responding the questions should be noted as a correct correlation between the questionnaire questions have been detected.
